Did The US Government Fund COVID-19?

The United States government has reportedly made duplicate payments to fund projects at the Wuhan, China laboratory. This lab is of course the lab that is proposed to be the origin of the coronavirus pandemic. According to CBS News, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) are the responsible parties for causing the double payment in research grants.

Federal investigator Diane Cutler has been hired by Senator Roger Marshall, Republican – Kansas, to investigate the double billing – which she says could be a “potential theft of government funds.”

Culter, according to Breitbart, has said

“What I’ve found so far is evidence that points to double billing, potential theft of government funds. It is concerning, especially since it involves dangerous pathogens and risky research.”

According to Culter’s report, the findings were shared with USAID and the situation may have resulted in tens of millions of dollars could have been stolen in the situation.

According to CBS News,

Cutler said she has viewed over 50,000 documents, and that the U.S. government may have made duplicate payments for possible medical supplies, equipment, travel and salaries.

A spokesperson for USAID declined to comment. A USAID inspector general spokesperson declined to comment “on the existence of a specific open investigation.” The press office for NIH did not respond to CBS News’ questions.

Sources told CBS News the investigation of possible double-billing could take at least six months to conclude.

As a result of the investigation, Senator Marshall has called for a congressional commission to investigate the grant funds that were sent to the Wuhan lab.

The NIH or USAID have not responded on the situation, instead, they have declined to comment on the investigation or their responses to the situation.
