After three days full of votes and discussions, Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy came to the Capitol Friday knowing he was getting closer to the speakership. While he had had good opposition from around 20 members of the House, it seemed as if Friday, and the coming weekend, changed the minds of some lawmakers. As when the House reconvened Friday at noon for the twelfth vote. While there has still not been a majority reached – these fifteen flips are encouraging as the House is set to resume at 10 p.m. Friday.

While in the twelfth vote, the following fourteen lawmakers changed their vote in favor of Kevin McCarthy.

1. Dan Bishop R-NC

2. Joshua Brecheen R-Okla

12. Paul Gosar R-Az

13. Andy Ogles R-Tn

14. Victoria Spartz R-In

Victoria Spartz

Victoria Spartz had changed her vote in this round from present – which virtual was not counting – to McCarthy.

Then in the following vote – the thirteenth vote – one one Representative switched his vote.

15. Andy Harris R-Md

Andy Harris

This fifteenth vote switch brings Kevin McCarthy close to majority just not quite their yet. At this point McCarthy can only afford four Republicans to vote against him, and five members – Matt Gaetz, Fl, Andy Biggs, Az, Bob Good, Va, Lauren Boebert, Co, and Matt Rosendale, Mo – claim they will refuse to vote for him. We will see what happens at 10 p.m. Friday and what may carry into the weekend if any.

As of now, and until a Speaker is selected, House members cannot be sworn in and will continue to use the Representative-elect title. The Clerk of the House, who is currently presiding over the vote, will continue to head the House until a Speaker is selected.

McCarthy has been in congress for 13 years. What has he done for America and the American people?? Why does he deserve to be the 3rd in line for the office of the US President???? RINO.

Once again – the lesser of 2 evils. If the Republicans do not come together on one man or woman – quickly, I am very much afraid the Demonrats will once again have the Speaker position. That would really be the end of the Republican Party and probably of America. I would much prefer new blood, but McCarthy is better than Jeffries.

This squabble can best be seen as a bid to keep Americans from thinking that we are just engaged in ‘business as usual’. Ladies and gentlemen: This country’s government was overthrown in the bloodless coup d’etat of the stolen 2020 election, and which was exacerbated by the similarly outrageous machinations of the 2020 Midterms, as tainted fruit of that poisoned tree. We cannot continue along this dark path. This squabble is holding up things political in this country until the SCOTUS rules on the Brunson case, which is a game changer, designed to get us back onto the path into the Light – for this country, and the world. If the SCOTUS fails to rise to the occasion, and fails to nullify both the 2020 and 2022 tainted elections, then the U.S. military will have to do their job, in honoring their oath. But getting this country back on the ‘straight and narrow’ will happen, in either event. Because this nation’s Constitution – its rule of law – is hanging by a thread. And the nation will be saved. Or not.
Be on the right side of that Turning Point.
