Over the weekend Chicago faced a battle of gun violence as more than 30 people were struck. While there were 20 reported shootings, there were 32 victims including children and an off-duty cop. From 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday the shooting occurred with what police have confirmed to be at least 5 dead. While the gunman escaped a second occupant in a white chevy that was used by the suspects was taken into custody.

At the beginning of the weekend, Friday night, a 44-year-old man was shot and killed in an alley. Then on Saturday, a 36-year-old man was killed in his car at 12:30 p.m. On Sunday, a 30-year-old man was shot in the chest and another unknown male was shot in the chest while three others were injured. As well as a 15-year-old teen who was shot and killed at around 1:30 a.m. Though, at some point along the weekend, an off-duty cop was also shot suffering a neck wound, and crashed her car.

the whole incident was violent and brutal as many victims were left dead or injured in the street. The situation has left Chicago Police with quite a lot to investigate, as the primary suspect is still on the loose.
